CABBAGE PANCAKES
This is an dish which is prepared by a particular community called the gouda sarswath Brahmins. They mainly are from the coastal areas where the coconut is found in abundance. Their cooking is mostly hassle free but very healthy. They are usually food loving people. They believe in the concept that a guest is god who has come in disguise so he or she has to be treated like one. They usually have a good complexion because of the use of coconut and its products.
INGREDIENTS
1.RICE 200 GRAMS
2.COCONUT 4 TO 5 TABLE SPOON
3.RED CHILLY POWDER 1 TABLESPOON
4. TAMARIND A SIZE OF SMALL MARBLE.
5. SALT AS PER YOUR TASTE.
6.CABBAGE GRATED 100 GRAMS.
First and foremost soak the rice for half an hour. Grate coconut that is four to five table spoon. Grind the coconut , rice ,chilly powder, tamarind and salt into a fine paste. With very little water so as to make pancakes.
To the paste add the cabbage and mix properly so that all the ingredients are mixed well. The consistency of the batter should be in such a way that it should be neither too liquidish not to hard.
Heat a tawa and apply any oil of your choice. And take one big spatula full of cabbage batter and spread it using your hands such that a beautiful pancake or dosa is formed. Sim the gas and let the pancake be done in one side and then change it to the other side till it is done. Cabbage pancakes can be eaten just like a snack or with rice.
